Everyone who lives in Arizona knows about Scottsdale Fashion Square and has definitely walked around the mall once or twice before. Its pretty much one of the only things to do besides going to see a movie during the very hot summer months. The mall has had so many stores come and go but I have to admit that it has never looked better (especially with the new Barney’s New York that just opened… but that is a different post altogether). On Thursday October 22nd, the gorgeous Microsoft store opened up in one of the newest wings of the mall. It is located in the Nordstrom wing on the first floor around the Juicy Couture, Tiffany’s and Pottery Barn area. This new store, which is sleek and modern and sells the new Windows 7 along with computers and Xbox’s is the first for Microsoft. For its grand opening, Microsoft decided to put on an event with a performance by Ashley Tisdale. They hired non-other than the best event company in Los Angeles, the Visionary Group, who also happen to be my old co-workers (Hi Rob and Brian). They produced all of the security, lighting, sound and staging for the concert as well as booked the trailers for Ashley and her band. My best friend Kristen Janofsky also worked the event. It was a mini Bolthouse reunion right in the middle of the parking lot of Fashion Square Mall! Ashley performed a 40 minute set and the event was a HUGE success. She had an in-store signing after her performance and the line from the store was almost down to the food court. Another great event from the Visionary Group! On the weekend of November 12th-15th, the NASCAR Sprint Series brings the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 presented by Pennzoil to the Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale Arizona. Tickets are still available in a wide range of prices, depending on what kind of package you purchase and for which day or days you decide to attend, out of the four total days that the event will take place. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racer and star Kasey Kahne will be one of the many special celebrity guests at the Phoenix International Raceway’s Budweiser Roll-Bar for a meet and greet with fans and to answer questions before the big race, on Sunday November 15th. There will be additional appearances at the Phoenix Raceway’s hospitality clubs from other major NASCAR celebs including Casey Mears and A.J. Allmendinger. This will surely be a weekend any NASCAR fan won’t want to miss. The Phoenix International Raceway is located just outside of Phoenix where there are many hotels in the area that are already sold out. Is everyone else watching the second season of The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo? I’m actually a fan I’m not gonna lie. I mean Rachel is an absolute nut, but that is kinda what makes her so funny and lovable. She sort of has an innocence to her that is likable and unexpected. And, the things that come out of her mouth… forget about it… they are just too funny and bogus to forget. Things like ‘I DIE’, ‘That is BANANAS’, and the best one by far ‘SHUT IT DOWN’. Rachel is a great stylist there is no doubt about that but she has truly made a brand out of her name and her sayings. You’ve got to give it to her. And how can you not drool over all of those clothes and shoes and bags and jewelry galore. Its like watching a kid in a candy store but its really a stylist in a closet/store… well you know what I mean… Hermes, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and go go goooooooooo!!! I DIE!

So what did everyone think of the episode last night? First of all, the whole Paris thing is totally amazing. I’ve been to Paris before, but have never been to Paris Fashion Week. The whole talk of Paris and fashion week was making me a bit jealous. You could see that Taylor was finally excited about something. She has been complaining and hating her job and life since the beginning of the season, so it was nice to see her get excited about work. And then, of course, Brad steals away her excitement and is the one who gets to go. Now, why did Taylor say that he could go? I was so mad at her for telling Brad he could go and honestly… Brad didn’t seem to appreciate it and didn’t even say thank you… ugh what an ungrateful little brat. He bugs me so much. I liked him in the first couple of episodes, but I can’t stand him anymore. I even stopped following him on Twitter because he annoyed me so much… LOL. I really wish that Rachel would have stepped up and taken on the ‘boss’ role, and told Taylor she could go and Brad to stay back.  There wouldn’t have been any drama, it would have been fair and the issue wouldn’t be on the table anymore.

It is the drama that makes a good television show, and the scenes for next week’s episode don’t fall anything short of that. It looks like Taylor is going to continue to be frustrated, as she is left behind doing all the work while Brad dresses up like a lunatic and prances around Paris. OMG OMG OMG OMG, I think I just might have died and gone to heaven. Robert Pattinson just Tweeted! I mean its not like he has his own Twitter account or anything, but he really did Tweet!!! Ok, so this is what happened. On my Twitter account (Elodie’s Twitter Account) I am following Peter Facinelli. Peter Facinelli plays Carlisle Cullen, Rob’s pseudo dad in the Twilight Saga movies. Peter has Tweeted before that Rob does NOT have a Twitter page, and said that he would definitely try and get Rob and/or a few of the cast members to tweet from his phone while they were on set. Currently, they are all in Vancouver filming the third installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse. And so, they must have been doing a scene together today because Rob just Tweeted from Peter’s Twitter account!!!

Here is the Tweet: “Thanks a million. Here’s Rob… Hi, it’s Rob… My first and last tweet. My dad made me do it.”

I love it!!! You know that it is really Rob, because Peter has what Twitter calls a ‘verified account’ meaning that it really is the person, and not a made up or fake account. And there you have it folks. The first and only real live Tweet from Mr. Rob Pattinson himself!!! Ahhh!!! I hope that made everyone else’s Friday like it did mine!!! Now, if only he would get rid of that Kristen with her ugly Vampire Wig… she really should have gotten some human hair extensions instead.

I know I am a little late on this one as the awards aired two nights ago, but they are still on my mind and certainly continue to be the talk of the entertainment industry. So much happened at the show, I don’t even know where to start… Kanye, Janet, Russell, Taylor², Jay-Z, ROB, Madonna, Kristen, etc!!!

OK, lets start with the Michael Jackson tribute. Did anyone else notice the professional dancers/choreographers (from So You Think You Can Dance) who joined Janet on stage when they danced to her and Micheal’s song Scream? I saw Chris Judd, Laurie Ann Gibson and Tyce Diorio. Their moves were so crisp, sharp and amazing that I couldn’t help but clap at the end of the performance. I thought the tribute was great and the whole crowd was on their feet remembering Michael, his music and his unforgettable dance moves.

Next was the ‘Best Female Video’ Award and you (should definitely) already know that Taylor Swift won.  And, while she was on stage giving her speech, Kanye West took the microphone out of her hand and started talking about how Beyonce had the best video ever. The crowd, the viewers, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner (who presented the award, while wearing an adorable Calvin Klein suit) were all completely stunned. Kanye gave the mic back, the crowd then booed and it looked like Taylor was saying something, but the program cut out to the next scene, so I couldn’t really tell what happened afterward. After the stint, anytime Kanye’s name was mentioned throughout the night when he was nominated for an award, the whole crowd booed… as they should have. It was great!

The next and BEST part of the evening was when Rob Pattinson (my future husband), Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner came out on stage to introduce the trailer for New Moon. Did anyone else notice that Rob was completely wasted? He looked totally hammered and out of it. Also, what did Kristen whisper into Taylor’s ear before she began speaking? And, if you couldn’t tell, it definitely seemed like Rob and Kristen were into one another by the way they kept locking eyes and leaning into each other…. UGH… and just to prove my theory, take a look at this picture below of the two of them. He is is pulling her tightly into his body and she is also leaning in. I wonder what a body language expert would have to say… oh wait, i don’t want to know. I am totally devastated like every other 13 year old in the world!!! Oh well, I guess I am not going to be Edward Cullen for Halloween anymore. I am definitely returning my Vampire Costume. LOL… ugh I can’t talk about it anymore.

Moving on to a lighter subject, the acts.  Other than the Michael tribute, I really enjoyed the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys collaboration, Beyonce’s routine (couldn’t stop dancing), as well as Taylor Swift’s performance.  I thought it was cute how Taylor sang throughout the subways of New York and ended at Radio City Music Hall. Very creative and different from MTV (thank God). I also really liked the song that Lady Gaga performed about the paparazzi, but she might be a little too weird for me.  Her outfits and her face and her choreography were really out there and she is kinda starting to bug me.

At the end of the night and one of the most touching moments was when Beyonce won the ‘Video of the Year’ award for Single Ladies and told the audience about how she remembered when she was 17 and won her first MTV Moonman. She then brought out Taylor Swift so that she could also have her ‘first’ moment. It was a very cute and touching little ending to a totally drama filled and fun night.

I am so excited for the CW Network’s fall line up.  Last night I watched a ’sneak peak’ of some the new shows that they are bringing to television this September, and it got me very very excited.  There are also, of course, a few that are coming back that I certainly will not be missing including Gossip Girl, America’s Next Top Model and 90210.  Gossip Girl is going on its third season and 90210 will be back for its second season.  A couple of the new shows that they previewed were, The Beautiful Life: TBL (which I still need to figure out what TBL means) starring Mischa Barton & Sara Paxton and Melrose Place starring Ashlee Simpson-Wentz & Colin Egglesfield (who actually used to live with my one of my friends in Los Angeles before he moved to New York to be on All My Children).

Guest starring on Gossip Girl this season is Hilary Duff.  She is going to play an actress who goes to college in search of a normal life.  She supposedly starts dating Penn Badgley’s character on the show, Dan Humphrey.  Ed Westwick’s character, Chuck Bass is apparently still in a relationship with Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meister), but rumors are that Chuck has already filmed a scene where he makes out with another guy. Hmmm… should be interesting… I can’t wait!!! I am so team Chuck and Blair (so lame, I know).

Another new series airing on the network is a vampire show (vampires seem to be all the craze lately) called The Vampire Diaries.  While I was watching the preview, I couldn’t help but think to myself that this was some sort of rip off of the Twilight Saga.  And, as you all know by now, I am completely ‘ROB’sessed with all four of the Twilight books as well the movie Twilight (and soon to be New Moon), that I almost feel like if I start watching it that I might be cheating on Edward, Jacob and Bella… LOL.

I also really liked and am looking forward to The Beautiful Life: TBL which is executive produced by Ashton Kutcher. It is a behind the scenes look at the modeling industry. Sara Paxton plays a character named Raina Marinelli who is just starting out in her career. Her newbie character is what we call to be very ‘green’ to the industry. I will definitely be tuning in to watch Sara and Mischa battle it out on the catwalk.

Did anyone else watch the Octomom special on Fox on Wednesday night? Oh Em Geeee is all I have to say about it. Seriously, the lady is WHACK!!! What a crazy nut bag. I mean, I couldn’t even believe what I was watching. It was just too much and totally out of control.
Throughout the show, I felt more and more sorry for all of her children. After every word that came out of her mouth, I cringed harder and harder. I don’t even know where to begin or what was more shocking to watch.
In one scene she took a couple of the newborn babies to the park along with her twins who are around 2 years old. The twin boy named Caleb was hitting the camera man and then slapped his mom across the face. Nadya told him that he had to go to ‘time out’ for his behavior, and he was not having it. It was clear that the kids have no respect for their mom when he proceeded to disobey her and call her a ‘bitch’ not once but twice. It didn’t even seem to phase her either. It was like it happened every day. First of all, a kid who is 2 years old shouldn’t even know what that word means let alone call his own mother that…
Nadya then went on about how she thought it was the funniest thing in the world that she once put her mom in the trunk of her car. Now, her mom is definitely not the most pleasant person, in fact this would be the appropriate time to use that word ‘bitch’. Regardless, the fact that Nadya was going on and on about how funny it was when her mom was rolling around in the trunk of her car while she was slamming on the gas and the break, was just pure evil.
Also in the episode, she spoke about the father of her children and how someday she hopes he will come back into her and her kids lives… but seriously, after watching and realizing what a nutcase she is, I am sure that won’t be happening anytime soon.
In another scene she mentioned that her house was haunted. I think its more like her ‘mind’ is haunted to be completely honest. With 14 kids and 8 newborn babies, how does she find the time or the energy to come up with this nonsense?
I have absolutely no idea how she thinks she can raise 14 kids on her own with just her 3 nannies. She was literally filing out a chart as to when each kid had eaten last. That doesn’t sound like the joy of motherhood to me… The cops came to her house two different times as did social services. I, along with the rest of America, feel so sad for the children and only hope they turn out okay.

On Monday night, Fox aired the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.  Now, I must admit that I might be a little too old to watch the Teen Choice Awards, or have anything to do with the word ‘teen’ for that matter.  However, since my new crush Robert Pattinson was going to be there, well there wasn’t really a question that I was going to be watching.  As I mentioned in one of my previous SEO Showbiz Gal posts, I am totally in love and obsessed with the Twilight Saga (which includes 4 books and one movie, with another movie hitting theaters in November and the third movie which started filming on Monday in Vancouver Canada).  Anyways, the first movie Twilight was nominated for a ton of awards at the Teen Choice Awards, and won a total of 11.  Almost all of the Twilight cast was there to accept these awards.  Yes, Rob, Kristen, Kellan, Taylor, Nikki, Ashley and even Catherine the director appeared to show some respect to their biggest fans, the teens.  As lame as it might sound, it was definitely the highlight of the night.  And, I know I am not the only one who is a huge fan.  Out of all of the stars who were there and all of the nominees presented as well as everyone who performed and won, the crowd didn’t go nearly as crazy as when even the word Twilight, let alone Robert Pattinson was mentioned.  If you don’t know what I am talking about then you should really find out for yourself and march on over to Target to get your very own paper back copy of the books.

The very next day, which was a Monday (the awards were pre-taped on Sunday night), the cast of Twilight all headed to Vancouver to start filming Eclipse, which is the third installment of the series.  Below are two pics.  One of Rob actually smiling (which is a rarity) on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet, and another in wee hours of the morning in the security line at the airport on his way to Vancouver.

Another interesting moment from the awards was when Miley Cyrus had the ‘opportunity’ to introduce Britney Spears as the ‘Ultimate Teen Choice Winner’ for the year.  Her speech was genuine and made it seem that it really was an honor introduce Britney and give her the award.  When she announced Britney’s name, Britney came out (like the wack-job that she is) and didn’t even acknowledge Miley.  She thanked the audience with her way too short dress and her god awful hair extensions in two seconds flat and was on her way.  I am sure her ‘people’ told her to make it quick, but it truly seemed like she could care less and didn’t have a heart… A couple of other notable celebs that were in attendance were Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman and the Black Eyed Peas.

Now, we all know that award season is my favorite and I guess you could say that this wasn’t that bad of a way to kick it off.  Up next is the Emmy’s which will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and shown live on CBS on Sunday September 20th, 2009 at 8/7c.

Tonight is the finale of the 5th season of So You Think You Can Dance, also known as SYTYCD!!!  Do you hear it?  Can you hear it?  Is that a train I hear comin?  I think it’s the train… YES… the HOT TAMALE TRAIN wahoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait for the final results.  Last night on the first night, part one, of the finale, all four finalists danced with each other.  Brandon danced with Evan, Evan danced with Kayla, Kayla danced with Brandon, Brandon danced with Jeanine, Jeanine danced with Kayla, and Jeanine danced with Evan.  In addition to all the dancers dancing with each other, each of the finalists performed a solo for a total of 10 dances!  The finale took place on a special custom stage at the Kodak Theater in front of 3,000 live screaming crazy fans.  There was so much energy on the set you could just taste it.

After taking in all of the dancing, the music, the one on one interviews with Cat Deeley and what the judges had to say, I think that it is going to come down between Brandon Bryant and Jeanine Mason.  I honestly believe that Brandon is a better dancer than Jeanine, but think that Jeanine has come a long way and she is just such a beautiful dancer to watch.  Also, a guy one last year and there has only been one girl who has won the tile of ‘America’s Favorite Dancer’.  Come on Jeanine… I’m routing for you!  Also, her solo was amazing.  As the judges said, it didn’t top Brandon’s solo from last week, but it was still great.  Brandon’s solo from last week was one of the best solo’s ever danced on So You Think You Can Dance.  Wow, GOOOOOOOOO Brandon!!!

Evan is totally a crowd favorite, its the only reason and explanation on why he has been through week after week.  And last night, after some critiques were given to him by the judges, the audience booooooo’ed and then started chanting his name, bringing Evan and his whole family seated in the front row to tears.

Last night’s episode was not only fantastic but also emotional. I can’t wait to watch tonight to see who will be crowned ‘America’s Favorite Dancer’. You can watch part two of the SYTYCD finale tonight on Fox at 8/7c.

Last weekend, it was so hot in Scottsdale, Arizona that I decided to go and see a movie in the middle of the afternoon.  I didn’t want to see something scary or heavy, and all of the reviews for The Proposal were pretty good, so I decided to spend two hours of my afternoon in the air conditioned theater with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock.
The Proposal is about a very successful book editor played by Sandra Bullock and her assistant of three years, Ryan Reynolds.  Sandra is from Canada, and her visa is expired so she makes Ryan marry her as part of his job in order for her to continue to work and stay in New York. Along they way they have to convince his family and the government that the marriage is for real.
I absolutely LOVED the movie. Sandra was just so funny throughout the whole entire film.  There was everything in this movie from love and laughter to sadness.  I was laughing out loud most of the time, but there was also a part where I almost shed a tear.  I have to admit that Sandra and Ryan had amazing chemistry, and they obviously weren’t too shabby to look at either.  There was one scene where both of them were pretty much completely naked and wow, they definitely looked great (especially Ryan… LOL).  That Scarlett is one lucky lady!
The movie did very well opening weekend and continues to bring in the big bucks at the box office. Congrats to Sandra for another number one hit movie, and a huge applause to Ryan for one of his biggest successes to date. I think The Proposal took Ryan from B-list celebrity to A-list celebrity overnight.
The Proposal is still playing at theaters everywhere and if you want a good laugh and some beautiful people to look at while you are trying to beat the summer heat, then you certainly won’t be disappointed.
