This is the first season that I have watched So You Think You Can Dance, a dancing competition television show that airs twice a week on Fox. One of my best friends, as well as my mom and my sister told me how much they loved watching it last season, so I decided to give it a try. My mom and sister even went to their tour when it was in Phoenix. So, I decided to set my Tivo to record the whole season and I must say that I am absolutely HOOKED!!! I am so glad that there is finally something exciting to watch on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
So You Think You Can Dance
On Wednesday all of the dancers perform a dance in front of a live audience and the judges give them their praises or critiques, and the viewers have to call in to vote for their favorites. All the dances are choreographed by these really great and amazing choreographers and they are truly unique and sensational to watch. One of the choreographers is Wade Robson, who is the same guy who Britney Spears cheated on Justin Timberlake with and ended up causing their very public breakup. I honestly thought that he would never work again after that… LOL. The dancers are paired up in couples and the couples that are in the bottom three are announced on the Thursday show. These three couples have to perform an individual solo that they choreograph themselves. The judges then deliberate and decide which girl and which guy is going home. So far this season, I’ve agreed with their picks.
Cat Deeley is the host of the show and she is the most adorable thing ever. Her accent is so cute and she does a great job. You can tell she genuinely cares about all of the dancers. I don’t know if she was or is a dancer, but I think that she is brings a certain warmth to the show. Another great personality on the show is one of the judges, Mary Murphy. She is a ballroom expert and brings so much laughter and fun to the show. You just never know what is going to come out of her mouth. She likes to scream a lot and has the best bubbly personality. I love listening to what she has to say!
The Host of SYTYCD Cat Deeley
The show has so much energy and is very entertaining to watch. Sometimes I actually feel my foot moving to the beat, while I am watching on the couch. My friend Dana and I text throughout the show and she is usually dancing around her house…LOL. If you like music and you like dance, this show is an absolute must. I can’t believe that I have just gotten into it!!! So You Think You Can Dance airs on Wednesday and Thursday at 8/7c.
