The New 90210

By ilovedorks

In 2008, Beverly Hills 90210 was introduced to a whole new generation of teenagers. The new series was one of the most buzzed about television shows of the year. Critics were skeptical about the remake, but audiences proved that the show had promise.
The story line starts out the same way as the old 90210, as the Wilson’s (the wannabe Walsh’s) move to Beverly Hills from Kansas. Since then however, the plots haven’t exactly mirrored the previous series, and that is what draws in both the new and the old audiences. There are enough similarities in the plot, but it’s still super fresh. The new cast is  young and gorgeous, and the producers were smart enough to bring back just enough of the old faces. Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty to be exact! Jennie Garth’s role has new plots mixed with old story lines, such as, having a son with ex Dylan McKay, and having a younger sister named Erin Silver. None of the new viewers know what they are referencing, but the older viewers who were big fans of the older version, really appreciate it!
All in all, the new series didn’t disappoint and became a big hit. Word on the street is that since 90210 became such a success, the network is now in talks about a remake of Melrose Place. Hopefully they will be smart and bring back everyone’s favorite actress from that show, Heather Locklear. We will be waiting. In the meantime, 90210 returns with all new episodes Tuesday at 8/7c on the CW.
