So we all know about the glitz and glamor in Hollywood and everyone dreams of being pampered. You always hear stories of their cribs and their fabulous lives. You also hear just about as much as their health issues. Am I right? Ok maybe it’s just the stories I read and my sources for news but I think that Halle Berry living with diabetes is a bit more inspirational and interesting than what happened last night on Paris Hilton’s MTV show. I’m not that big into sports either but Jay Cutler (quarterback for the Denver Broncos) being diagnosed last summer with diabetes remaining on the football field is something else to keep your attention on. Everyday Americans living with diabetes don’t have the luxuries that many people in Hollywood do, but I would go as far to say that their lives are more interesting and their achievements are greater. They have to deal with insulin shots, special diets, special orthopedic shoes and the heart to not back down. It doesn’t matter what your bank account says, true success lies in a person’s character. I give props to those that cease to stop living their dreams.
Sure I enjoy movies, shows, and just plain-good entertainment, but I’m not going to write off the people that we should truly look up to. We should pay special attention to those that are not as fortunate in terms of physical disabilities. For those born in such conditions, they have much more to gain and learn as people. They are the true heroes in this day in age.
Okay, I’m done blacking out and I’m back to my shows and GQ Magazine.
