The new episodes of The Bachelor On the Wings of Love starring Jake Pavelka just started airing on ABC. Jake is a cast-off of last season’s The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris and is known for suddenly returning, after he was kicked off, to tell Jillian that Wes had a girlfriend. The final time we saw Jake last season was on the balcony of a hotel balling his eyes out…. Eww.

Jake Pavelka is The Bachelor
A couple of episodes have aired including the one where bachelorette Rozlyn Papa gets kicked off for having an affair with one of the staffers from the show. What would possess a girl who is fighting for a handsome airline pilot bachelor to hook up with a staffer? Just doesn’t quite make much sense Rozlyn.
OK moving on. In last weeks episode Michelle finally left the show, thank GOD! OMG she was so out of control. She was totally dramatic and super emotional. Jake just could not handle her anymore, and to be honest, I couldn’t either. I was cringing when she made Jake kiss her. Also in last weeks episode was a special one on one date with Ella. Jake took her on a helicopter ride and surprised her by bringing her son on a visit to spend the day at Sea World with them, as a belated birthday present. Was it just me or did anyone else thing that as the day went on, Ella just kept getting less and less attractive? In one scene she looked gorgeous and the next she had on different clothes and then her hair was wet and then her teeth were yellow??? I must admit though that she is one of the girls on the show that doesn’t seem to create drama or get involved in all the cattiness of the show. It really seems like she is looking for love and is interested in Jake.
Speaking of girls being catty and dramatic, let’s talk about Vienna and Ali Fedotowsky. All of the girls in the house hate Vienna because she was bragging about their date and what an amazing person Jake was and blah blah blah. And out of all the girls Ali Fedotowsky hates her the most. I think its because she the most jealous girl in the house and just couldn’t handle Vienna talking about her date. I like Ali and think she is absolutely gorgeous and think that she will definitely be one of the last one’s standing… but it looks like she might have a little mean streak, from the looks of the scenes for next week’s episode.

One of the many Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky
Who will get that final rose and be engaged to Jake Pavelka in the end? Will it be Ali Fedotowsky? Will it be Tenley? Will it be Ella? Will it be Vienna? Tune in every Monday night on ABC at 8/7c to find out for yourself.

Happy New Year! As we say hello to 2010 and goodbye to 2009 I wanted to mention just a few moments that I will never forget in 2009 as well as what I am looking forward to in 2010.
2009 was the year where I fell in love with the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer. I read all four books, bought Twilight on DVD and even took the day off of work to see New Moon, the day it hit theaters. In 2010 I’m looking forward to and super excited for Eclipse to come out on June 30th and for the final installment, Breaking Dawn to begin filming.
2009 was also the year where I became a fan of So You Think You Can Dance. Not only was I able to watch and get into one season (season 5), but 2009 brought me two full season’s of the series on Fox. If watching two dancers get the title of america’s favorite dancer wasn’t enough, I was also able to attend the Season 5 SYTYCD concert tour. I had such a blast being able to watch all of my favorite dances from the season LIVE at jobing.com arena with my mom and sis!
2009 was also the year where I joined Twitter, one of my favorite websites. The Twitter phenomenon went mad in 2009 and my goal for 2010 is to get an additional 200 followers! So, follow me tweeps, I promise I am fun to follow!!! Follow me at Elodie Otto’s Twitter Page here.
In the coming year I am looking forward to continuing to watch some of my favorite shows like Gossip Girl, Beverly Hills 90210 and Project Runway as well as the brand new season of The Bachelor on ABC starring last season’s cast-off Jake Pavelka (the airline pilot from Texas). And, I’m sure I am not the only one who is intensely looking forward to the final season of LOST!!! I am also going to start reading the Harry Potter series as I’ve heard its absolutely spectacular!
Up first for 2010 is my favorite award show in the world, the Golden Globes. Get ready for a full review of who wore what and the big winners of the evening! Hope everyone has a happy and safe New Years Eve!!! xoxo, Elodie

Happy New Year

This week is the season finale of season 6 of So You Think You Can Dance! This was one of the best season’s of the show by far. But, in last weeks elimination, one of my favorite guys (Legacy Perez) was kicked off. Ugh it made me so angry. There are two people in the finale that I definitely don’t think deserve to be, the married couple of Ryan and Ashleigh. First of all, Ashleigh was injured last week and didn’t even perform. And Ryan is a ballroom dancer who hasn’t danced nearly as well as Legacy. I mean what was America thinking when they voted him off… UGH! So its down to Russell, Ryan, Jakob, Ellenor, Ashleigh and Kathryn. I have absolutely NO idea who will win. I will be happy if either Kathryn, Russell or Jakob wins. It is no secret that Jakob is the best dancer this season and probably one of the best dancers that SYTYCD has ever seen. I think that Russell is definitely a fan favorite and his style of dance is something that we have never seen on the show before and he is just adorable. If a girl wins it better be Kathryn. She is such a beautiful dancer and person. I loved all of her dances when she was paired up with Legacy. I mean when Legacy was kicked off I was thinking about boycotting the show. I sure am gonna miss watching Legacy, with his cute little deadpool shirts, dance. So… who will win? If America votes right they will vote for one of my favorites and Ashleigh and Ryan won’t be anywhere close to winning the title/money. I mean Ashleigh wasn’t even in the original top 20. So, don’t forget to watch the So You Think You Can Dance finale live on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8/7c.

On Friday November 20th, the opening day of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga: New Moon, I along with a LOT of other people headed to the theaters. New Moon, unlike Twilight followed the book just as I anticipated and the film was just amazing. By the end of the weekend millions and millions of girls just like me spent at least two (or more) of their weekend hours watching Taylor Lautner’s gorgeous 17 year old eight pack on the big screen (being that he is 17 and still illegal makes it a bit weird but I’m not gonna lie, I was definitely swooning all over him in the theater and why shouldn’t I have.. he worked hard enough for it). The film broke two opening records, one for the most ticket sales for a midnight showing, and the other for most money made on opening day beating the previous record held by the late Heath Ledger’s The Dark Knight. That Stephanie Meyer is one genius, yes she is. And the fans definitely didn’t disappoint. While waiting in line for the theater to open there were girls with their mothers, teens, older women, and even guys who were decked out in everything New Moon. One group had all matching Team Edward T-shirts, another had the characters’ dolls, another group brought the life size cut out of Edward, and one group even had the Scene-It game where we all played in the theater as a competition on who could scream the answers the loudest (since everyone in the theater knew all of the answers, guaranteed)! These die-hard aka twi-hard fans were a trip to watch and sort of made me feel a little better for being as ‘rob’sessed as I am…LOL. I will definitely see the movie in the theaters again as I don’t think I can wait for the DVD release. Everyone is already talking about Eclipse, the third installment of the series. Eclipse is in post production and is set to release on June 30th, 2010. Below are two pics for a little preview… one is the movie poster with the release date and the other is a pic from the director David Slade’s Twitter page of Riley on set. I guess we will just have to wait and see what kind of new records this one will top. So CRAZY!!! PS- I already got my Robert Pattinson 2010 calendar for the office… LOL xoxo

On Friday November 13th, yup that’s right Friday the 13th, my mom, sister and I went to Jobing.com arena in Glendale, Arizona for the So You Think You Can Dance show. The top ten dancers as well as two special guests, Phillip and Kaitlin (top 12), came to perform some of the fan favorite dances from Season 5. The show was so fun, powerful, full of energy and comedic. Between each number, two dancers at a time would come out to introduce the next dance. The funniest bit was the Russian Folk Dance number where they poked fun at Jeanine and Phillip’s number that was performed during the season that was absolutely awful and embarrassing. The arena was packed. I really couldn’t believe how many die-hard SYTYCD fans were out there. It kind of made me feel better that I wasn’t the only one in front of my television every Tuesday and Wednesday night busting a move in my living room. The crowd favorites were Brandon and Ade. Brandon because of the phenomenal solo he performed in his tight black shorts, and Ade because he is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Both received standing ovations from the crowd. Jeanine Mason ended up winning season 5, but after seeing her and runner up Brandon Bryant’s solo side by side in person, it is crystal clear that Brandon is the better dancer and should have won. But, as Nigel and Mary always say… Jeanine peaked at the right time on the show and the title is ‘America’s favorite dancer’ not ‘Americas best dancer’. What a great idea from executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and Fox to create a concert tour from city to city. They sure are banking on these performers. There was hardly any intense production, only a stage, a few big screens and some lighting and sound. No big salaries and tons and tons of merchandise was being sold. Can you say, milk it for what it is worth?!!?!? Well good for them, I mean I’m a victim myself as I couldn’t resist a sweatshirt… LOL
Anyways, all 12 performers danced solos as well as some of my favorite unforgettable dances like the hip hop number by Jeanine and Phillip from the very first show, the heart dance with Jason and Jeanine and the alcoholic addiction dance between Kupono and Kayla. It was entertainment based on pure talent and it was refreshing to see a show that wasn’t all about the glitz and glam of the production. It was just some really great dancing!!!

Everyone who lives in Arizona knows about Scottsdale Fashion Square and has definitely walked around the mall once or twice before. Its pretty much one of the only things to do besides going to see a movie during the very hot summer months. The mall has had so many stores come and go but I have to admit that it has never looked better (especially with the new Barney’s New York that just opened… but that is a different post altogether). On Thursday October 22nd, the gorgeous Microsoft store opened up in one of the newest wings of the mall. It is located in the Nordstrom wing on the first floor around the Juicy Couture, Tiffany’s and Pottery Barn area. This new store, which is sleek and modern and sells the new Windows 7 along with computers and Xbox’s is the first for Microsoft. For its grand opening, Microsoft decided to put on an event with a performance by Ashley Tisdale. They hired non-other than the best event company in Los Angeles, the Visionary Group, who also happen to be my old co-workers (Hi Rob and Brian). They produced all of the security, lighting, sound and staging for the concert as well as booked the trailers for Ashley and her band. My best friend Kristen Janofsky also worked the event. It was a mini Bolthouse reunion right in the middle of the parking lot of Fashion Square Mall! Ashley performed a 40 minute set and the event was a HUGE success. She had an in-store signing after her performance and the line from the store was almost down to the food court. Another great event from the Visionary Group! Thanks for the invite and I hope to see you boys again soon. xoxo Check out the Microsoft store during normal mall hours, open daily.

Is everyone else watching the second season of The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo? I’m actually a fan I’m not gonna lie. I mean Rachel is an absolute nut, but that is kinda what makes her so funny and lovable. She sort of has an innocence to her that is likable and unexpected. And, the things that come out of her mouth… forget about it… they are just too funny and bogus to forget. Things like ‘I DIE’, ‘That is BANANAS’, and the best one by far ‘SHUT IT DOWN’. Rachel is a great stylist there is no doubt about that but she has truly made a brand out of her name and her sayings. You’ve got to give it to her. And how can you not drool over all of those clothes and shoes and bags and jewelry galore. Its like watching a kid in a candy store but its really a stylist in a closet/store… well you know what I mean… Hermes, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and go go goooooooooo!!! I DIE!

Rachel Zoe from The Rachel Zoe Project
So what did everyone think of the episode last night? First of all, the whole Paris thing is totally amazing. I’ve been to Paris before, but have never been to Paris Fashion Week. The whole talk of Paris and fashion week was making me a bit jealous. You could see that Taylor was finally excited about something. She has been complaining and hating her job and life since the beginning of the season, so it was nice to see her get excited about work. And then, of course, Brad steals away her excitement and is the one who gets to go. Now, why did Taylor say that he could go? I was so mad at her for telling Brad he could go and honestly… Brad didn’t seem to appreciate it and didn’t even say thank you… ugh what an ungrateful little brat. He bugs me so much. I liked him in the first couple of episodes, but I can’t stand him anymore. I even stopped following him on Twitter because he annoyed me so much… LOL. I really wish that Rachel would have stepped up and taken on the ‘boss’ role, and told Taylor she could go and Brad to stay back. There wouldn’t have been any drama, it would have been fair and the issue wouldn’t be on the table anymore.

The Rachel Zoe Project Cast
It is the drama that makes a good television show, and the scenes for next week’s episode don’t fall anything short of that. It looks like Taylor is going to continue to be frustrated, as she is left behind doing all the work while Brad dresses up like a lunatic and prances around Paris. Ugh, I just want to punch him sometimes… Anyways, I am looking forward to next weeks episode of The Rachel Zoe Project, Monday on Bravo at 10/9C. I know I am a little late on this one as the awards aired two nights ago, but they are still on my mind and certainly continue to be the talk of the entertainment industry. So much happened at the show, I don’t even know where to start… Kanye, Janet, Russell, Taylor², Jay-Z, ROB, Madonna, Kristen, etc!!!
OK, lets start with the Michael Jackson tribute. Did anyone else notice the professional dancers/choreographers (from So You Think You Can Dance) who joined Janet on stage when they danced to her and Micheal’s song Scream? I saw Chris Judd, Laurie Ann Gibson and Tyce Diorio. Their moves were so crisp, sharp and amazing that I couldn’t help but clap at the end of the performance. I thought the tribute was great and the whole crowd was on their feet remembering Michael, his music and his unforgettable dance moves.
Next was the ‘Best Female Video’ Award and you (should definitely) already know that Taylor Swift won. And, while she was on stage giving her speech, Kanye West took the microphone out of her hand and started talking about how Beyonce had the best video ever. The crowd, the viewers, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner (who presented the award, while wearing an adorable Calvin Klein suit) were all completely stunned. Kanye gave the mic back, the crowd then booed and it looked like Taylor was saying something, but the program cut out to the next scene, so I couldn’t really tell what happened afterward. After the stint, anytime Kanye’s name was mentioned throughout the night when he was nominated for an award, the whole crowd booed… as they should have. It was great!

Kanye West Taking Mic from Taylor Swift at the MTV VMA's.
The next and BEST part of the evening was when Rob Pattinson (my future husband), Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner came out on stage to introduce the trailer for New Moon. Did anyone else notice that Rob was completely wasted? He looked totally hammered and out of it. Also, what did Kristen whisper into Taylor’s ear before she began speaking? And, if you couldn’t tell, it definitely seemed like Rob and Kristen were into one another by the way they kept locking eyes and leaning into each other…. UGH… and just to prove my theory, take a look at this picture below of the two of them. He is is pulling her tightly into his body and she is also leaning in. I wonder what a body language expert would have to say… oh wait, i don’t want to know. I am totally devastated like every other 13 year old in the world!!! Oh well, I guess I am not going to be Edward Cullen for Halloween anymore. I am definitely returning my Vampire Costume. LOL… ugh I can’t talk about it anymore.

Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson at the MTV VMA Awards.
Moving on to a lighter subject, the acts. Other than the Michael tribute, I really enjoyed the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys collaboration, Beyonce’s routine (couldn’t stop dancing), as well as Taylor Swift’s performance. I thought it was cute how Taylor sang throughout the subways of New York and ended at Radio City Music Hall. Very creative and different from MTV (thank God). I also really liked the song that Lady Gaga performed about the paparazzi, but she might be a little too weird for me. Her outfits and her face and her choreography were really out there and she is kinda starting to bug me.
At the end of the night and one of the most touching moments was when Beyonce won the ‘Video of the Year’ award for Single Ladies and told the audience about how she remembered when she was 17 and won her first MTV Moonman. She then brought out Taylor Swift so that she could also have her ‘first’ moment. It was a very cute and touching little ending to a totally drama filled and fun night.
